No one likes to be alone
But what choice do I have?
People pass and people stare
Some pretend they care
A few may truly do
But for most it's just pretence
They'll be fine about themselves
Telling you what you want to hear
But then you realize
What they say is a bunch of lies
Truth is you are alone
Like all those previous times
I walk through life
Looking around, giving smiles
Inside I cry
I need to get out
But I have no where to go
Would be fine if I absent
If I go away for good?
You'll be crying for me
But as usual it's only pretence

I'm wanted... wanted, dead or alive!
One word: P R I C E L E S S ! ! !
Yeah, yeah.... I've just watched Supernatural's season finale... and dude, was it good!!
Well, as it was finale, obviously it's expected to be one hell of an episode, in this case literally, haha. Anyway, even the season being shorter than usual, I liked it. There were great and funny moments, some a little bit boring. In this last one, many predictable things happened, but all in all it was a good one, I have to say I liked it a lot.
The video... Sam and Dean singing Bon Jovi was just priceless! Definitelly the highest bit on the episode. Both of them singing all in the mood... then Dean being a bit down with the words sinking...
But I have to say, I'm looking forward for the next season, to see how things happen, and how Sam will manage to get Dean off hell. Because, Supernatural without the two of them, isn't Supernatural... I only hope for it to be creative, and not too simple and easy.
So let's see what happens... stay tunned.

Why do we write fanfics?
Simple, coz we get paid to do so.
Yeah, right!
I don't know about others, I believe everyone has their own reasons to read/write fanfics, but I love it coz now it's like a hobby to me, something I dedicate myself in doing. Something which puts a smile on my face when I feel glad with something I wrote. Something that allows me to play 'god', hahaha - well, I play with persons' lives, I choose who they fall in love with, I choose the sequence of events leading to another events... I even control the weather! =P
And I swear I'm not crazy.
Other good things about writing/reading fics, is having a good time, making jokes about something you read/wrote with others and have a laugh. Or simply just to get away from it all, with a little bit of romance... drama... comedy or whatever the story is about.
This may be irrelevant for some, but for many non-English speakers, is a way to learn the language with something interesting. My learning of English was through music, internet and utimately fan fics. Now that I have a site and I correct the fics I read/script, I also learn from others' mistakes, and also for others' right doings - like a word I don't know, so I'll searh in a dictionary and try to keep always advancing my vocabulary.
What I find good in fanfics.
For starters, I like long and well written stories. And I like emotion in the story, not things happening too fast, not giving ya time to 'feel' it, y'know? Details are good, but not too many and all the time the same things, it's nice to have a mental picture, but it's also nice to imagine how it is going on. it must be balanced not to get the fic boring.
Dialogues, I like the good ones, with sarcasm, nice retorts. All lovey-dovey sometimes can get on my nerves - romance yes, cheesiness no. And, there must be some explaining of what is happening, how are the characters feeling, stuff like that. I don't like much "direct dialogues" [sorry, can't find a better word to describe it]; anyway, those with only the talking, not detailing what they're doing, only with he said, she said usually. Those I find a bit boring.
And the most important, is the plot, the story-line. Something interesting, with some suspense to keep wondering what will happen next, or how it'll happen. A good story line well told will remain, but it must have a writing with the same high level; I've read fics with such interesting plots, but the writing wasn't that good for me and it upseted me to see what could have been a great fic, be just another not outstanding story. And, the ending... seriously, I think the top fics in my list are those with nice endings, something you'll remember long after the reading is over.
I know that most fic writers do it for fun, but most also care about doing a good job. I try to mix both, having fun writing what I consider good things, lol. I value the quality of the story a lot, but by no means I'll judge those who are careless about it, each to their own. ;o)
Personal.
Alright, this is personally what I like or not in fics, everyone has their own tastes, and this is mine. =P
I like long fics, to spend the whole day or even more reading the story. But the story must be good and with a good writing, otherwise it's no fun at all. It depends on my mood the genre, but I usually like big drama, angst with some romance. I don't like it all lovey-dovey, all about the Lifer and the girl, they must have trouble, they must fight and stuff like that.
Another thing I don't like, it's the fic getting too personal, like, having too many family members and/or partners. Alright, sometimes having their mum's and dads, even brother or sister may be relevant to the story, but if it's not, I don't see why use them. And as for partners, those with made up characters I find a lot more interesting.
I don't like things happening too gast. 'Hello, I love you, marry me' is the worse thing I've seen on fics. It's nice to 'watch' things happening gradually, taking time for it, not all at once.
AU [Açternative Universe, those where Westlife is not Westlife] I'm not really found of, though I've read AUs pretty good. If I am to pick, it'd be a non AU. I like writing/reading about the Westlife world in fics, other subjects I'd read a book, a story, not a fic.
LOL, it's more like things I don't like, hahaha. But that is coz what I like pretty much sums up in a long well written story, lol. - Saying that, it doesn't mean I don't like the short ones, I actually do and have read some pretty good ones, with interesting plots and good writing. =)
Anyway, as my previous post stated, I've read Kurt Vonnegut's book. And so I went to wikipedia to learn more about him and his other works [which unfortunatelly I couldn't find around here, damn it]. And there was this bit, I think he's written it somewhere, his eight rules to write a short fic. Here it goes:
Anyway, I find the 'rules' interesting... and why not consider it, not only for short stories?
I personally liked the sadistic bit. I like fics with extreme angst, being it physical or emotional. There're not many from this type out there, but anyway, I keep wishing for them, hahaha =P
Oh, seeing my post is not that log yet, [yeah right] I think I'll extend it a bit more.
I'll rate my own writing, my own fics [which can be found on Neverland and/or my mini-site for my fics].
First of all, a note that I really suck at writing short fics. Y'know, those stories in which you must tell a story in a few words... but I can only do that with too many words, hahaha. =P
And on another note... I'm afraid to say my best stories aren't 'published' yet. - Meaning they're unfinished still, therefore, not publicly on line.
» When Your Eyes Say It. My first ever fanfiction. I wrote it in 2005 I think, about the time MYF [my ex site] started. I had an idea, and I thought 'why not?' and gave it a go. In all honesty, now I find this one crap, but I remember I really enjoyed writing it. I never re-read that again after it was finished, and I don't feel like doing either. I dunno, I think it's too simple, too unlogical and too innocent. But, everyone has to start somewhere, huh? I have a special liking for this fic, despite thinking it's not that good. 5/10
» A Christimas Fairytale. The following fic I finished. I remember I tried writing something else before this one and after WYESI, but that was crap. I liked writing this one, in 2 days I think I finished it, just a few days before xmas 2005. It's weird coz it doesn't really look like my usual fics, it's all lovey-dovey, also sort of melancholic... For the record, I hate xmas, and about this time of the year I'm pretty low... that must be the the reason for this story's mood. 8/10
» That's Life. This one I love. I think I wrote it in a weekend... one weekend I was - for a change - mad at Westlife's neverending cover songs. I don't remember if there was one specific fact that made me write it, though. I think it's more of a realistic fic, somehow it feels real... which is creep, haha. Well, this one is my baby, it's one of the top of my fave fics I wrote. 9/10
» Catch me now I'm falling. This one I wrote another xmas I was pretty down... it says exactly what I was feeling at the moment I wrote it. I couldn't really get away, so I had my writing to do it... well, it was the next best thing. 8/10
» Obsession. My first x-rated fic! Haha. But no, it's not really a good one. And the shite with this one is, when I thought about this plot and had the inspiration to write... I had no computer! It was fixing... I tried to hand write, but it's too tiresome. I couldd've finish it in, I dunno, maybe a couple of days if I had my computer, but hand writing, I only managed a couple of pages... and when I got the computer back, the inspiration was gone. I still tried to have something done, but the final result was far from being what I intended... for a long time I've been thinking about editing it, even started one... but in all honesty, I don't think I'll ever manage to fix it, unfortunatelly... 4/10
» I'll stand by you. A song fic, I've heard the song, thought about writing something, and I did it. It's a short fic... and it's not good. It's not the worst I've written, but it surelly is in the botton... 3/10
» Across the street. This is the worst... a complete bad plot, based on a 3 minutes music video. I wanted to write a song fic about this song... so I wrote, but I seriously could've thrown it away, it's utterly crap. 0/10
» 2day's. The idea i had for this fic I thought was good, still do. But the writing... have I told ya I'm crap at short fics? So... it says it all. Maybe if it was proper written in a long story it could be better... but also, the format is more of a short story indeed. 5/10
» Dirty Little Christimas. Something I wrote last xmas... at the beggining of the fic it was ok, but then it became crap... I wanted to do something funny, but the writing wasn't funny, it was more like my usual tragic ones, but for thi sone it didn't suit... 1/10
» Damned to be with you. This one I wrote for Binha, and I actually like this one. I changed the way of writing short stories with this one, and I personally think it worked. I wrote the story I wanted to write and it didn't feel like something was missing, like all other short stories does. If I am to write some other short stories in the future, this one will be my model. 10/10
» Is it any Wonder? This is my 'wtf' fic. It's sort of short too, and I wrote it for a challenge in Neverland. I liked writing this one coz I was literally laughing with the mental pictures I was having... it's a funny fic, it's comedy and I liked the result. Also, this is the first complete fic I have no writing using myself as a character, though she has a lot of me. [Alright, Binha's fic wasn't about me, but I had me in the fic still]. I changed my way of write, and no more Mirelle on my fics, haha. 7/10
» Birds in the Trees. Not my most recent, but maybe the best work I have on line. Not according to me though, lol. I dunno, it's a strange fic... a long one, and it's a trilogy - the 2nd part is already started, and the 3rd is only inside me head - and it's pure drama. I like drama. It's not one of my fave fics, it never were, really, but I'm glad with the result and the feedbacks I got with this one. I dunno, I must be doing something right... lol. It took almost 2 years for me to finish this one, but not running 2 years. I started writing, dunno, I wrote about 30 or 40 pages and then left the fic behind... after months I picked it again, wrote a little bit more... and along this one fic, I wrote others too, so it wasn't exclusivity. 8/10
I think those were all my complete and hosted fics. I have a bunch of others incomplete ones; some of them I intend on keeping writing on, some will really depend. At the moment, I'm stuck with writing just one fic, and I want to keep like that for as long as I can... hopefully till it's complete. I am in love with this fic, atm it really is my top story, I like the plot and I like how I am writing... I'm enjoying the dialogues I wrote and I also like the fillers, lol.
Now that must be enough....
Keep the fanfic pride alive, dude. o/

- Use the time of a total stranger in such a way that he or she will not feel the time was wasted.
- Give the reader at least one character he or she can root for.
- Every character should want something, even if it is only a glass of water.
- Every sentence must do one of two things—reveal character or advance the action.
- Start as close to the end as possible.
- Be a sadist. No matter how sweet and innocent your leading characters, make awful things happen to them—in order that the reader may see what they are made of.
- Write to please just one person. If you open a window and make love to the world, so to speak, your story will get pneumonia.
- Give your readers as much information as possible as soon as possible. To hell with suspense. Readers should have such complete understanding of what is going on, where and why, that they could finish the story themselves, should cockroaches eat the last few pages.
Anyway, I find the 'rules' interesting... and why not consider it, not only for short stories?

24 April 2008
So it goes.
It was last week I gess that I finished reading his amazing book. How did I find out about it? Through Lost. Y'know, in this show there're lots of mentions about books that somehow is connected to the story of Lost. Slaughterhouse-Five is one of them. Obviously the book being mentioned on Lost wasn't enough reason for me to buy it and read it; specially coz I'm not a big reader - or at least I wasn't - and I won't waste time reading something I don't find interesting.
There are many themes on Lost, but for me, the one that really interests me is the time thing, and this is also the reason that drawn me to Slaughterhouse-Five.
It's the story of a guy named Billy Pilgrim. He's an ordinary guy, visiting moments of his life in his state of 'unstuck in time'. His conscious travells through time, [Desmond much?] taking him to the times he was at World War II and presentiated the destruction of Dresden, in Germany. The author, Kurt Vonnegut, was in Germany at that moment, which also makes the book not entirely about someone else, but there are many things of Vonnegut... including him as himself telling the story and even at some points meeting with Billy Pilgrim, the main character on the book.
For me, the highest point on the book, is the writing. He describes tragedies, some unbeliavable things and his comment is simply 'so it goes'. Seeing as it's a tragedy, supposedly you should feel bad about it... maybe you do, but you can't help but laugh as well. Well, at least I couldn't, lol. I absolutelly love sarcasm, dark and inteligent humour, so at some points I indeed laughed my ass off.
Billy, for instance, is one fucked up dude. He is whimpy and whinny and all bad things happens to him. Including being abducted and taken to Trafalmadore, where he learns to 'see' through time. Acknowledging that what happened before, will keep happening at that moment. That a moment gone is not necessarily a moment lost, it can be relieved as much as... forever.
Also that there's no such thing as free will. Things will happen if they're meant to happen, and nothing can change that. So Billy was laid back, acknowledging as well how, when, and even why he was going to die, so he laughed it off, saying if happened before, will happen again and will keep hapenning regardless.
I know, it's a bit confusing, but the book is not, believe me. It's one hell of a book. I searched around and found out that it was made a movie about the book. [the book was released in 1969, the movie is from 1972]. I've downloaded, but I haven't watched it yet... I dunno if it'll be as interesting as the book, but might be worth watching... and one day I'll do it, hahaha.
Oh, the priest flew with balloons and ended up going to the ocean. The balloons were found. He was not.
So it goes.

He was not.
So it goes.
The truth is out there...
So... time to talk about what I'm currently watching... X-Files!
I know, I know, it's not a new show.... well, it's actually way too old, lol. But still, one great show! I'm really loving to watch it... I'm currently reaching the end of season two [and to think there is nine!]. This season two don't actually seem that old like season one did... like, season one aired in 1993/94, so there was no mobile phones, no internet... it's actually fun to see this 'old' times.
Mulder and Scully [the two FBI agents signed for the X-Files] couldn't reach each other properly, they had to leave messages in hotels on wherever they were, asking to call back, in those big wired telephones... not to mention the computers in a really rough DOS. It does seem like another era, not only 15 years ago... Oh, but they had DNA tests! Hm, not exactly a proper one like today, but as I can't really talk medicine, let's leave it like that, alright!? hahaha
At first sight, you may think X-Files only deals about ETs, but the show is far from being restrictly about it. Yes, there are a lot of episodes that are indeed centering on extra-terrestrial life/issues, but not only.
One thing - among many - that I find interesting about X-Files, is that watching it, there are some stories/episodes, that are pretty much like in other tv series from now a days. Like, there was this episode about 'genes', where one person in the family was 'bad', so his progeny was 'bad' too. I watched an episode with his same 'logic' on Criminal Minds, which definitelly has nothing to do with X-Files, right? What differenciate the both shows having the same story in an episode, is that in X-Files it went more to the supernatural/fiction area, while Criminal Minds tried a more 'not supernatural' answer.
Still on CM and XF, another link to the both of them, is that in X Files, in their cases, there''s a lot of mentioning about serial killers and how to make an analysis on their behavior, how they pick their victims and why... does it ring any bells to Criminal Minds watchers? haha.
And it's worth mentioning, that X-Files, despite being fiction and with some supernatural things, has also science. I think they can ballance it pretty well, something like 'man of science, man of faith', like we have on Lost as well. In this case, we have Scully, the man of science, or I better say woman, lol. Anyway, she's the skeptical one, always trying to find logic, scientific logic, on things, even when her beliefs and convictions get a little shaken up. Mulder, in the other hand, is our man of faith - aye, he is a man - surelly he analyzes the logical explanation, but it's rarely present when it comes to X-Files...
As I mentioned Lost just now, I'll keep in the subject and say that just yesterday I watched a X-Files episode in which people watching Lost would identify. Y'know, around the internet you'll find a zillion theories about the time on the island, how it runs slow, and for that matter people won't age, - like Richard Alpert - and when they leave the island they do - the most probable cause why Walt has grown, yeah, I know the kid has to grow up and I do hate the paranoia about this matter, but still, it's also something the producers said would be explained, so... - Anyway, the XF episode was about it, in a certain spot in the ocean the time was accelerated, and the supposition was it had been a military experiment using alien thecnology - it happens a lot in XF, the conspiracies about governments hiding such events, having Roswell as the most known. The two agents got old in just a matter of hours de to that... but no, they did not die... there's still seven more season to go from where I've watched, haha.
Another connection with other shows I watch, is Supernatural, naturally. Some of the legends/happenings already mentioned in Supernatural, have been covered in X Files as well, one good example is spirits and posessions... it had in X-Files too... only they don't shoot with salt and preach in latin to do an exorcism, hahaha.
In time, X-Files are those cases about unexplainable things, those which SVU, BAU, CSI couldn't really solve.... LOL.
So let's talk about ETs. Have you ever seen one? And I'm not talking about ET, phone, home on the Spilberg movie, haha.

So let's talk about ETs. Have you ever seen one? And I'm not talking about ET, phone, home on the Spilberg movie, haha.
Would you think I'm crazy if i told you I've seen an ET? No, I'm not kidding now... I did see an ET. And no, he wasn't green, with big eyes [well, big eyes he indeed had] ans skinny. The ET was a bonde guy with big blue eyes driving one fancy blue car, which he stopped when me and my friends were walking back home [I was about 12 or 13], in a express via, where cars could not park, and there was no reason to, since there was no houses, just a block of building with the entrance to another side. Anyway, he parked the car and handed us [we were in three girls] two books about the ETs among us. I've read it, but I don't remember detais about the book, only it was a red one and not that long; but it said how the ETs are, that they are smart, quiet and some other stuff.
Anyway, we were three girls and he only handed us two books before he took off [No, it wasn't night, it wasn't desert and the car did not fly]. i got one book and my friend got other... and there comes the funny thing. Back then, my mum was studying and she talked to one friend of hers about the book and lent it for her to read... Ana's mum [Ana is one frind who was with me that day] was also studying back then... and she took Ana's book to her class, lent it to one of her friends.... neither me nor Ana ever saw those books again... yeah... unfortunatelly they're gone.
Just one hell of a coincidence......? Take your own conclusions, hahaha. =P
And just for the record, it did happen, I did not make this up, alright?
Alright... this post is already way too long... that's why i took so long to write it, haha, I've been meaning to so it looong ago.
Bye bye, see ya in anotha life, brotha - or anotha planet, who knows? haha.

Volta aqui macaquinho fdp!
Alright.... a pause here in my English posts... this one must be a Portuguese one!
And a warning... it contains bad language.
Ahh, that sucks! Mas... lado bom eh q pelo menos consegui assistir a 1, sim, UM, episódio dublado. E o q eh eles falando "Puta merda, eu acho q a gente matou o Kenny! Somos uns filhos da puta!" - eu ri muito!
E num outro episódio, eles tava vendo um novo desenho na tv... e o cara lah falando um monte de merda, falando pra guria passar super bonder no cú do padrasto dela... q isso mew! Eu quase chorava de rir mesmo! Huauahuauha.
Eh uma pena q não dê pra ver novos, mas msm assim.... dublado eh muito melhor!
Agora eh isso... post pequeno.... mas totally uncut. =P
